A biological clock is a set of cyclical rhythms to which the functioning of the organism is subordinated. The easiest way to show it is to use the example of light and dark periods - when it gets dark outside, we start to feel drowsy and tired. Note that the biological clock is stronger than the intended day plan. The better we synchronize with our body, the more efficiently we will function throughout the day. Biological clock - morning

At 7 a.m. the level of hormones in the blood rises, especially the sex hormones, moreover, the blood pressure rises and the pulse speeds up. In men, testosterone levels are highest throughout the day, which increases their sexual performance at this time. The digestive system starts working at 8 o'clock - it's good to eat a caloric breakfast at this time, which you will easily burn during the day. The secretion of melatonin is blocked, which coordinates our biological clock - it is responsible for sleep and wakefulness at the right times. Around 10 o'clock we go into the creative phase - we are more alert and energized. During this time, you can be tempted to have a sweet snack, because our pancreas works best and the level of insulin and enzymes is so high that the food is digested without any problems. Later, our short-term memory is at its peak.

Biological clock - noon and afternoon

From 12 we can feel a slight decline in form. Gastric juices begin to be released, so the body demands a solid meal. This is a good time for discussion - the best then is the ability to analyze verbal information. Our long-term memory is activated in the afternoon. 1pm is a poor hour for migraine sufferers as there are more migraine attacks at this time, so it is a good time to rest and nap. Between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. we experience a mid-day crisis - the body's efficiency drops by 20%, the liver retains glycogen, which means that the muscles have too little energy. Between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. we have the highest body temperature, during this time it is worth spending time on physical activity or going to fitness. 4 PM is the perfect time to get vaccinated - at this time your body has the most antibodies. 18 is a good time to visit a beautician - our skin is then prepared for all such treatments and the risk of irritation drops to almost zero. 18 is also a great time to have dinner or try new dishes - our sense of taste is sharpened.

Biological clock - evening and night

7 o'clock is a time of peace and rest, and a good time to slow down.A note for women - it's better not to step on the weight at this time. After 9 p.m. you have to think twice before reaching for a snack, because what you eat at this time will not be digested quickly and the calories will be stored as fat. In addition, around 9 p.m., the body begins to produce melatonin, the sleep hormone, and ends around 7 p.m., so we start to feel sleepy and weary. From 24:00 onwards, our body starts to regenerate intensively, around 2 hours the liver begins to process the evening meal, and 4 hours is the lowest blood pressure during the day. From 3 to 5 o'clock the lungs regenerate and the amount of secretions produced by the mucous membranes increases.

Our internal clock is located in a part of the brain called the hypothalamus, namely the suprachiasmatic nucleus. It regulates the course of most physiological processes in the body. The biological clock is responsible, among others, for: body temperature, fluctuations in hormone levels, changes in blood pressure, rhythm of sleep and wakefulness, the body's pH, including appetite and well-being - so it is worth living in harmony with it.
