Google Chrome is one of the most popular web browsers. It is hardly surprising, since it is characterized by high stability and speed of operation. However, in the case of working on weaker computers and habits related to opening a large number of tabs, the stability of Google Chrome may turn out to be insufficient. Too much memory consumption may translate into less efficient operation of the computer, which means that individual cards will be opened with a delay. However, there is an easy way to save valuable RAM resources. To do this, install a special plug-in from the level of Chrome browser, which will temporarily freeze unused tabs. Below we explain step by step how to reduce memory consumption.

How to reduce RAM consumption in Google Chrome?

• We download a plugin called The Great Suspender and then add it to Google Chrome - option Add to Chrome in the upper right corner of the screen.

• In the new window, confirm the installation by clicking on Add. The plug-in will be automatically installed and its icon will appear on the right side of the address bar.

• Click on the plug icon and then go to Settings.

• Check in the new window Automatically unsuspend when tab gains focus - in this way, the frozen cards will immediately become active if you switch to them.

• In the same window below, click on Length of inactivity before tab suspends automatically and choose the time after which the card will be frozen in the moment of inactivity - if we use many windows, it is best to set the time to 5 minutes.

• In the field Whitelist it is possible to add addresses that, under the exception, will not be frozen for the period of inactivity - it is best to enter those that we open regularly. Addresses must be separated with a space before entering the next ones. We also do not add "http: //" to the beginning of the address - the correct form is e.g. www.wfirma.pl, www.cenabiznesu.pl etc.

• From the level already described Length of inactivity before tab suspends automatically the minimum time to start freezing the card is 5 minutes. However, we can shorten this activity - for this we go to Settingsand then, having an open tab, click on Suspend this tab.
