Language coaching - the key to success in a foreign language
Children hear from an early age that learning foreign languages is essential for success. As they grow up and become specialists, managers, or entrepreneurs, they begin to see the truth in these words. In order to develop yourself and your career, you should not put barriers in front of yourself, so you should not limit yourself only to your own country and language. The problem is that the strange school tendency to teach languages from a completely impractical, grammatical side discourages many people and leaves them with the belief that they certainly do not have a talent for languages.
Problems with developing language skills arise primarily when learning methods do not match our goals, motivations and individual learning preferences. It is even worse when we want to learn a new foreign language, but we do not know what it would be for and what it would be used for. If, on the other hand, we need to learn a language only because someone from the outside tells us to do so - well, it is hardly surprising that motivation actually drops to zero.
At this point, it can be concluded that, on the one hand, learning foreign languages is a necessity or one's own ambition, and on the other - sometimes there is no way to take on such a challenge. This creates a niche that is increasingly filled by innovative language teachers - language trainers.
What is linguistic coaching?
The concept of coaching is familiar to most people these days. The most basic description points to a person who supports the personal development of others. He is a motivator, mentor, manager, shows the way, possible solutions and supports his clients in overcoming new challenges and achieving new successes. You can use the help of a coach or a personal trainer in Polish in many areas of life, from career, through spiritual and family development, to a healthy lifestyle.
The basic assumption of coaching is individual work with people, focused on their development using methods that will be best suited to them. Foreign languages are therefore an excellent field for individual trainers. As previously indicated, common learning techniques used in schools or courses often do not match the expectations and requirements of the audience. First - in terms of the technical aspect of the classes, second - in terms of individual motivation and possibilities.
The role of a language trainer is therefore not a classic study, but introducing your client into the world of a foreign language so that getting to know it is a motivation in itself, unlimited by individual barriers or imperfections.
How does a language coach teach?
Sessions with a language trainer are not like traditional courses. It is worth remembering that the basic goal - at least in the beginning - is not to master the language perfectly, but to determine what and how is important for the client. Therefore, the first meetings are usually a short conversation about why this language has become our goal, what we want to achieve with it and by when we would like to achieve such a result. The coach also knows what the classes looked like so far, what we liked about them and what made learning difficult.
Only on this basis, the trainer will be able to determine what are our internal imperfections and obstacles that build a wall between us and the ability to use the language fluently. He will also find out for what purpose we will use a specific language - it is worth remembering that a manager who intends to contact a foreign partner needs a different vocabulary and forms, and another entrepreneur who would like to learn the culture and language of a foreign country for his own pleasure.Perhaps to some, such an action will seem a bit far-fetched - how can a stranger know after one conversation what I am striving for and what motivates me and what not? In this situation, it is worth remembering that a language coach is not the same as a teacher - the purpose of the latter is to complete the lesson and teach us a specific program. A coach usually has psychological education and experience that helps in working with people, and is also a professional in this field. Its aim is not to pass the test, but to commit to learning the language so that it becomes a pleasure. Fluent speech is a nice side effect.
Most importantly - the personal trainer knows perfectly well that he is not dealing with a group of students, but that his client is an adult and mature man who has his life goals and plans. The only problem may be that they don't always have the tools to achieve them. Thus, the coach does not treat the client as a student, but as a partner. Thus, the form of the classes becomes an advantage - you can meet the coach individually during a face-to-face session, but you can also use the Skype communicator or the telephone for this purpose. This gives a lot of maneuvering opportunities for busy people, so you can save time and learn in the comfortable and comfortable privacy of your own home.
Language coaching, although not very popular yet, is a really interesting alternative to individual learning or a classic course. If you think you are linguistic talented and you will never learn a language, why not try a lesson with a personal trainer?
