In 1948, the first temporary employment agency was established in the United States, Poland gained it many years later, because it was only in 1994, when 21 people took up temporary work. The task of the temporary agency is to establish cooperation with various companies, regardless of whether the company is just entering the market or has been on the market for a long time, it can be both domestic and international corporations. There are also such agencies that create the labor market only in one region.

Temporary employment agencies - what do they do?

Temporary employment agencies search for employees on behalf of a given company, which becomes a user employer. A candidate employed by the agency receives a fixed-term employment contract and then is delegated to specific tasks in the client's company. This is called employee leasing. As a rule, it is a seasonal, temporary or ad hoc job. It often happens that a full-time employee is sick or goes on vacation, then the temporary employee takes over his duties during the absence.

Temporary employment agencies undertake the search for employees from various fields, both those for strictly manual work and those with specific professional qualifications. Agency services are free for jobseekers. Temporary workers have the same rights as full-time employees. He is also entitled to holidays. For every 30 days worked - two days off. It also covers all benefits under the Act and the Labor Code. The temporary employment agency as an employer is responsible for the salaries of employees. On the other hand, agencies at the client's request mediate in the recruitment process. They conduct advertising campaigns, market research, and conduct tests in terms of employee qualifications for a given profession. They present their offers to employers and they decide on possible employment.

Sometimes a satisfied employer hires a temporary employee. However, most often, after the expiry of the contract with the employer, a temporary employee uses flexible forms of employment - self-employment or teleworking. In this way, the employer can use the employee's potential, and the employee, in turn, gains greater independence.

Thus, a temporary employment agency, on the one hand, makes it easier for companies to find a quick and temporary replacement for a full-time employee who is not able to complete their tasks on time. Thanks to this, enterprises gain a guarantee of safety. On the other hand, it is an incredible opportunity for professionally inactive people. It gives them the opportunity to test themselves, demonstrate specific skills that may result in the employer's willingness to hire them for a longer period of time.
