Changes to the 500+ program! What to do in order not to lose the benefit?
In 2021, the accounting period for the 500+ program ends. For Polish parents, in practice, this means an obligation to submit new applications for the benefit under the program in question. However, this year has brought some changes regarding the 500+ benefit. What are these modifications? We explain in the article.
Changes to the 500+ program
Parents applying for a benefit for their children should be aware of the fact that currently the right to the benefit will be granted for the period from June 1, 2021 to May 31 of the following year. The deadlines for submitting applications for the 500+ allowance and their form have also changed.
The right to benefit and the period of submitting the application
In connection with the ending of the 500+ program settlement period, the Minister of Family and Social Policy, Marlena Maląg, informed the public about the new planned duration of the program - it covers the period from June 1, 2021 to May 31, 2022.
In order to be eligible for the benefit, parents are required to submit an appropriate application. The date of its submission affects the payment dates of the 500+ bonus, which are:
- until June 30, 2021, when the application is submitted by April 30, 2021;
- until July 31, 2021, when the application is submitted from May 1 to May 31, 2021;
- until August 31, 2021, when the application is submitted from June 1 to June 30, 2021;
- until September 30, 2021, when the application is submitted from July 1 to July 31, 2021.
The first applications for the entitlement to 500+ benefits can be submitted from February 1, 2021! The sooner parents apply for this benefit, the sooner they can receive this support.
How to apply for 500+ in 2021?
Applications for the 500+ benefit in 2021 can be submitted both electronically and in a traditional way - directly at the facility accepting the applications.
Electronic applications can be submitted from February 1 by:
- via the emp @ tia portal;
- through electronic banking;
- via the PUE ZUS portal.
On the other hand, by traditional means, i.e. in person or by post, applications for 500+ will be submitted only from April 1, 2021.
The year 2021 brought numerous changes also in the 500+ program. Parents are again obliged to submit applications for granting the benefit, and the recruitment of documents starts on February 1. Parents who do not want to lose money must submit their applications by June 30, 2021 at the latest.
